I'm trying to find a decent amp for my 2 12" Kicker L5s.
What do you think about Phoenix Gold ?
(looking at the Octane-R.15.0.1, I need minimum 1000 watts RMS at 2 ohms, and no more than 1200 RMS)

Phoenix Gold is okay. You'd be better off with Zapco/Arc Audio/US Amps/Orion/Xtant/JL/PPI etc.
If money is a problem, then look at MTX or Audiobahn HCT/Intake/DUB series.

I would agree with Isaac, any one of those would do a good job. I would recommend the JL 1000/1 amp personally. I say this because unlike the other amps, JL amps are self-regulated to put out 1000 watts RMS no matter the ohm load, or voltage (so long as the amp is operational it will put out 1000 watts RMS). It will give it the most consistent sound. |
