i am looking at the Alpine MRD-M605 amp. I have two 12" type r's that are the old 300 watt rms that are 2+2 ohms. does it really matter that this amp is 600 rms at one channel, that still provides 300 rms to each sub right? Or do i need to get a two channel? |

Alpine amp is 300w rms x 1 or 600w rms @2ohms. So if your sub is 2Ohms DVC, then you can use parallel wiring for 1ohm load. Then connect both subs in series for 2ohm load. Each sub will see 300w rms.

If your subs are 2ohms DVC, then follow the above instruction and you will get 2ohms total load for the amp. The amp is 1 channel (mono). So to power both subs, you will have to use series wiring on it. 300w rms to each sub.
