Kenwood was a very respected name back in the 70's and 80's. I believe they still make a pretty good product today as well!

It'll depend on what type/kind of sound you're looking for. If the amp is going to be used to power stock speakers, then just about any amp will do. However, if you plan on upgrading the speakers to components in the future, I'd suggest buying a different brand of amp.
Zapco/Arc Audio/US Amps/Xtant/Orion/JL/PPI are some of the good brands to try.
