Hello, Does anyone have any opinions on the MTX 1501D? Is it powerful and loud in comparison with other amps of similar price/wattage such as jl and hifonics? I read that its wattage rating is somewhat underrated? Let me know what you think.

Lot of MTX amps are under rated. It is not as good as JL, but I'd rate it better than Hifonics. |

Well I own a couple of them, and they work perfect. They never even get warm, and the gain is all the way up. Be sure to buy a remote bass knob. The only weakness to me is a lack of subsonic filters. But overall a nice amp for that kind of money |

Whoa, don't do what Nemanja did. Gain is not suppose to be used in that manner. It's there to match your amp's input voltage to your HU's preout voltage. If set incorrectly, it will cause the amp to clip, thus damaging your subs and eventually the amp itself.
