i finally got my 2 12" alpine r's ($260 baby.) they are 2+2 ohms. Now, what kind of amp would i want to be looking at for 400 rms to each with maybe a 1000 to 1200ish peak on 2 ohms? the only thing is i only have about 250 to spend on it. thanks for any help

Find a mono amp thats two ohm stable that has a power rating of 800RMS or more at 2ohm. For $250 your not going to find much at that price (depending where your buying) unless its low-end companies. And generally you will find that there amps are overrated the what the specs actually say.
