Protection is a red light that comes on if the amp senses a detrimental failure. Try turning your gains up. |

Once the amp goes in to pretection, you will have to shut off the remote(done automatically when you switch the ign off) then turn it back on. Most amps will go into protect before any damages occur. |

OK. You want your protection light OFF. If it is on that means something is WRONG. If you have a multi meter, check the voltage on both sides of the remote wire(at the amp and at the head unit). Let me know. |

If you check the remote wire at both ends and it is good then you have a signal at the amp. Are you rca jacks good? What brand are they, how old? Do you possibly have another amp? If so you could "bench test" your setup/wiring to see if it is correct. I recently had to gut a system looking for a similar problem. I FINALLY found a crispy wire connector on the inside of the sub enclosure. If by some chance this does not expose the problem, Give me some info on your headunit/rest of your system. |
