is there a big difference between the 2 volt or the 4 volt preouts on head units? what does preamp voltage mean?(im comparing the Alpine CDA-9847 with the alpine 9830)

what does preout voltage mean?* (i dont know what the hell preamp voltage is, i must be tired)

if you want to add an amp to your car audio. preamp voltage is very important for good sound. in basic terms, the more voltage your headunit sends to your amp, the less your amp needs to work and you get cleaner sound with minimal distortion.
