i have the cda 9831 and i dont like the eq setting, i use the rock one and i was wondering if anybody knew the numbers on the rock eq so i could tweak it a little on one of the userers eq setting.

I've been wondering the same thing...you'll probably have to email Alpine to find out what the numbers are.
Just play around with the User EQ's and you can get really close to some of the presets.
