I had a 5 channel Hifonics amp (50 watt rms) run a set of infinity Kappa 6x9 and kappa 6.5 components in the front. This was mostly OK but now I want something which cleaner and louder, sound that is crystal clean at higher volumes. I like the speakers and my Pioneer 7300 HU but the amp has GOTTA go. I am willing to spend upto $1500. Please give me suggestions on what I need to do. My system is wired for two amps and the hifonics can be bridged, so thats definitely a option. I was thinking of getting a Alpine or a JL amp (atleast 75W rms....my speakers are rated at 110W rms) and a JL 10" sub (not big no bass). Anything else I can do....I absolutely detest distortion of any kind....precisely why I don't even listen to MP3's....to me the loss of sound from a regular CD is HUGE.....any suggestion is welcome

try this:
Kicker KX800.4 amp
~$270 US, 100W x 4 RMS

JL Audio 500/1 amp for sub
JL 10W7 sub in a straight sealed box.

Audiocontrol 6XS electronic crossover/line driver to split up the signal and give you a solid 9V line voltage.

that would be a terrific step forward.
