When I drive around in my car and I turn on my system its like my car is being "drained" of energy. Is this bein caused by a drain on my battery? My lights dont dim. and I have a capacitor, but wat happens is my idle drops and i have to push my accelerator further down to get goin and my car gets harder to start after turning it off. Im pretty sure its my alternator, but i might be wrong. can u help? |

yep...sounds like your alternator can't keep up with the drain of your system. your amps are feeding off of your battery. do your lights dim when the bass hits? you prolly need a high output alt. what amp(s) do you have? |

If I turn up the volume to a middle to high volume then I do have a little dimming, not noticeable, except the dash it dims a good amount and so does my clock. I only have 1 Lightning Audio amp that is putting out 250 watts rms, plus I have a R.F 1.0 farad cap. I wont have this car much longer. next week is my birthday and Im supposed to get a MAzda MX6 but I wanted to be sure it was the alternator in case I come across this problem again. |
