i was given a lightning audio x1.1000d. i hooked it up and it will not come out of protection mode. i have checked ALL my wires and it is not them. since no one in my small town fixes amps and im to poor to send it in i would like to see if i can find the problem and try fixing it. even though i know i will fail miserably i think it would be fun. so can any one show me a basic blueprint of an amp? or any sugg. on what may be wrong. its not the wiring trust me. |

you need: 1: proper test equipment. a scope, meter, probes, soldering pen, etc. 2: a regulated 12VDC power supply rated for high current applications 3: a resistive dummy load, also rated for high power applications. 4: the schematics of the exact amp you're repairing, supplied by the mfgr. and 4: you need to know what you're doing. this is a good start: http://www.bcae1.com/repairtutorialcdinfo.htm
