Glasswolf I was informed that the sub preouts for my alpine CD player was less than 2 Volts If I changed this to 8 Volts or higher would it make a difference with my JL 12W3 and in addition how could I upgrade to that many volts?

the sub pre-out for that deck is 4-volts not 2. That is a good deck man dont let anyone tell you that the reason your system doesnt sound good is because of that deck!

you would have to buy a different deck, but as long as you match the gains on the amp with the preout voltage they are fine. there is nothing particularly special about higher voltage pre outs.**remember that it is MAX 2volts, so set it a c*nt hair lower than 2volts.
