im thinking of purchasing either the 12 inch kicker L7s or the 12 inch w6v2 I need an amp to rock these subs.I was thinking about the mtx1501d amp wat do u guys think thanks alot |

depends on the impedence of the drivers. this amp is only 2 ohm stable so if you decide on this amp make sure you get your subs in a dual 4 ohm load, so it will wire down to 2 ohms. i saw your post in subs,about which one and that depends on what you want. the l7s will be loud but not sound that good. the w6v2s will sound better but still deliver some punch. the l7s have quite often been know to just stop working. hope this helps |

If you're getting 1 w6v2, then mtx is fine. If you're getting 2, then you'll have to wire them in series-parallel to get a 4ohm load. I recommend just paralleling the coils and getting 2 MTX 801D amps, one for each sub...perfect set up. Or 2 kicker 400.1. Those run just under $200 shipped on eBay. |
