So I have two 15" 8 ohm woofers at 800 watts max each - They have a single coil. For an amp, I will need to wire in parrellel and find a mono 4 ohm somewhere near 1600 watts for good loud music. This is what I figure right now as a newbie and not confident at all with this. Am I figuring this wrong? I just don't want to go spend my money and later find that it won't work. Any tips or corrections/comments would be appreciated. Thanks. |

So I'm looking at this amp: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=4950%26item%3D5741311377% 26 Would this be a good choice? It's cheap and seems to have the power I need... any advice?

Yeah that thing is not 1800 watts. That is a peak rating that you will never reach. RMS is closer to 200 watts, and I wouldn't even consider that as good clean power. If you need that much power look into Kicker or JBL. Both are pretty well made and reasonable in price. |
