well i have a labtop which i have set up 2 control every thing in the car and i mean every thing right down to the seats i had to make some hardware for it to work the labtop has all my music on it, so i was j/w if i need one cuz my amp wont turn on i have an area 51-m labtop tricked out soo.. i got all the controls running threw this usb box i mad iight l8er |

oh. use the remote trigger, and either use a relay to trigger the turn-on of the amplifier, or use an ignition line to do the same. either way will work for what you're doing. the notebook in this case would be considered the head unit in a way. what you'd actually want to do is go from the notebook's line level output, to an electronic crossover, then to a 4 channel amp for front/rear components, and a mono amp for the subs. that'd allow you control over the amplifiers for crossover points, slopes, etc through the crossover, and control of source material and volume through the notebook.
