So do you think this amp is over rated or is it really 400 w x 2?

typically you wouldnt buy a 4ch amp for subs anyways.
i wouldnt recomend this amp for any woofers, wether or not its is capable of producing enough watts for subs is not the issue, the fact that it has 4 channels is.
go with a two channel or mono block.
thats my opinion.
secondly, i mentioned that phoenix gold now offers a lower more affordable line, that amp you linked is one of that line.
heres the deal with phoenix gold...
if you think the price is affordable,
then it is thier lower quality product
if you think wow the price is way too expensive...
then your looking at some of thier top quality products:-)
(phoenix's good stuff is very expensive, the link you gave up there is for some of the crap they decided to make to commercialize thier company)

your right Zac I knew that back in the day they were top of the line. I didnt know if they were bought out by anyone else in the last few years. Remember that $100,000 amp they had at one point? man that was sick. Well back to the topic Just make sure the amp you are looking at isnt their low end line, but even their lower end line is better than alot of amps that I see people using around here. Well thats my opinion.
