I am going to install an amp to my factory head unit and was wondering what I do with the amp turn-on lead. Is there a spot on the factory head unit for it, or do I have to wire the turn-on lead to some other place? |

The remote lead wire needs to be hooked to a 12V switched wire. Anything that turns on with your ignition. GW, do you normally wire the lead to the fuse for the radio in the box, or what? |

if he's using an OEM head unit, he's probably using high level inputs on the amplifier. in that case, most amps these days support auto-sensing for turn-on, so no REM wire is needed. otherwise, he can just T-tap into the switched ignition line behind the radio, and if desired, add a toggle switch to turn the amp on and off manually if he has the radio turned off for long periods while driving and wants to shut off the amp, or just to disable the subs as desired.
