i have a rockford fosgate t1000bd (2004 model) amp on 2 L7 kickers at 2ohms but it's not hitting as hard as id like it 2. should i try 1000 watts at 1ohm? or will it shut off over time?

read the manual and see if it's stable to 1 ohm.
see if your car's charging system can handle the current draw if the amp is 1 ohm stable.
then figure out how you'd get a 1 ohm load from those two subs on that amp, if it's a 2 ohm load now.
