What's the difference between say a Jensen vs. Rockford Fosgate vs. US Amps? What exactly do you get for the extra money you spend? I hooked up a borrowed 300 watt bridged Jensen and my sub sounds better (mostly more powerful) than running on a 150 watt mono Rockford Fosgate. The RF would put out 300 watts into 2 ohms but I have a single 4 ohm sub. Duh, twice the power is gonna work better since the sub can take it, but really, why are you all so down on these cheap amps like Jensen? |

The single most important thing to an amplifier is build quality and material quality. With good materials comes better S/N, efficiency, lower distortion, etc. Amplifier topology and "patented technology" isn't what determines a good amp. Many of the top amps you'll lay your hands on are some of the simplest amps out there, and they use milspec components. |
