do you have the S12L5 already? what is the voice coil configuration? dual 2 ohm? dual 4 ohm?

no i do not have it yet im askin like if bought one what amp would i need to go with it? it will probably be 4 ohm i dont know about the voice coil configuration |

ok the sub comes in two versions. what you'll want, for a single sub is the dual 4 ohm coil version. this will gie you a 2 ohm load to a mono amp when its all wired up. then you want a mono amp that puts out around 600 wats RMS x 1 @ 2 ohms. the Kicker KX600.1 is a good choice If you plan to add a second S12L5 later, then get the Kicker KX1200.1 that will give you 600 watts to one sub, or 600 each to two of them. the sub comes in dual 2 ohm and dual 4 ohm coil versions. again, you want the dual 4 ohm version. that's two coils, 4 ohms each, for each sub.

i just looked at the kicker kx600.1 and its like 350.00 and i only have like 200 to spend on an amp so is there any other kind that may be cheaper to power one like a different name brand besides kicker or something? |
