I just bought a bd 1001 rockford fosgate amp and i have a 100 amp alternator i build engine and systems but i was just wondering other people opinions on if i should run a bigger alternator with the 5 farad capacitor i have right now? i am either going to run 500watts at 4 ohms or 1000watts at 1 ohm

try the amp out with the stock charging system first.
see if you have any problems.
If your voltage rails don't sag, leave it as is.
If they do, then upgrade the charging system as needed.
