Right now, I'm deciding between getting a Cadence ZRS-10 or an Orion 2500d for an amp for my 12" RE X.X.X. On woofersetc.com, they go for somewhere around 800$. Should I pick one of these amps over the other one, or for that price should I get an amplifier from somewhere else. My plan was to get the X.X.X as a dual 4 ohm and then get a 1 ohm capable amp, so that if I decided I wanted more bass, I could buy another X.X.X dual 4 ohm, build a box, and put it in, no problems. Any suggestions or opinions are appreciated. Thanks! |

Also, what exactly is the effect of hooking up a 2 ohm load to say a 1 ohm setup amplifier? Does this have negative effects or is it perfectly OK to do this? |

you could try the hifonics 1500 amp at the same website, its 1 ohm stable and only like 270 bucks. and it is ok to hook up a 2ohm load to an amp that can handle 1 ohm loads. if it says it is 1 ohm stable, that doesnt mean that the only way to run it is at 1 ohm, you do get more power out of the amp at one ohm though. |
