Well...you cant give a bridged 2 channel amp
a 2 ohm load, unless its 2 ohm stable...
but I dont fully understand what youre saying.
Is the sub he has a dual 2 ohm or dual 4 ohm?
If its dual 2 ohm, you can wire the coils in
series for a 4 ohm load (most youre gonna get out
of that amp)
If its a dual 4 ohm sub...its not really gonna
work out too well with that amp.

Hey lil, I don't know which mtx model your friend has. If the amp is 2ohms stable on each channel, then yes, you can connect 2ohm subs on them. However, if the amp is not 2ohms stable bridged, then you won't be able to use it as 2ohms.
Some 2 channel amps do support 4ohms x 2 and 2ohms x 2, but 4ohms x1 (bridged).

Simple answer:
If the amp is 2 ohm stereo stable, it'll be 4 ohm stable when bridged.

when an amplifier is bridged internally, it will see half of the actual load, which is why amplifier ratings are always stable at twice the load bridged as compared to stereo.
