well that pends on how you want them to sound?
I had 2 12 kicker comp c12a in a ported box and it sounded ok but then I made an sealed box and they hit harder well I got some new subs and I would definiately go with sealed

first, determine their EBP.
This determines what your subs are best suited for.
Efficiency Bandwidth Product (EBP)
EBP = Fs / Qes
50 or less = best used in a sealed enclosure.
50 - 90 = flexible enclosure options.
90 or greater = best used in ported enclosure.

If the subs are suited to either box type, then it's up to you and what sort of sound you're after.
