I know purpose of use be it subs bridged/nonbridged, 6x9's, 5's or component speakers etc... determines exactly what amplifier you guys prefer. I'm just wondering what the best names are. Seems to me that Rockford, Kicker, and MTX are good from reading the posts. I made the terrible mistake of buying some junk at Wal-Mart they try to pass off as being quality... Virtual Reality Soudlabs 400watt (VR4). That's what I get for buying something I know nothing about at Wal-Mart. I'm learning now though and wont buy until I'm sure of a good quality brand. It seems the store names like Jensen, Pioneer, Sony and the like are not as good as I thought by reading the posts. Also thought about Lanzar but it seems like not too many people use them. I like their looks, but in amps I know that's not a good way to judge |

Favorite brands of mine would be Zapco, McIntosh, Arc Audio, US amps, Audison, and a few others. My favorite affordable amps are Kicker, MTX, and JBL, in that order. |

Fosgate Punch is nice in your price range. I've seen McIntosh in Lamorghinis. I don't know what McCulley drives, but I'm sure if he's going to the land of "we sell for less".... |

LOL Nappy, No Lamborghini here, just a '98 Camry. I never was really interested in amps until a friend of mine gave me an old PYLE bass tube. It's a cheap tube and coupled with a cheap amp it really sucked. Gonna gut the whole factory system and upgrade once I make up my mind of what type of setup I want. |

Soundstream, I love Soundstream. Only the Van Gogh or Tarantula series with the new stuff though. All the old stuff rocks. |

Oh, add to my favorites Tru Technology. They make great amplifiers, too.
