I'm planning on building a new system but am not that experienced with car audio atm. I was looking at this setup: -Pioneer DEH-P960MP Receiver -Cerwin-Vega Vmag 502 5 1/4" speakers in the front (dash) -Cerwin-Vega V-MAG 693 6" x 9" speakers in the back (this is a van so i want my passengers to benefit from these) -A cerwin-vega EXL-1000D amplifier powering two cerwin-vega V-Max 15" subwoofers I was planning on using my receiver's amp outpout to power my speakers but may consider getting a 4 channel amp for them as well. What do you guys think?

Hey Sini, for starter, you can go with above configuration and get good sound. Getting an extra 4 channel amp will always improve over stock HU. By the way, you do have more choices than cerwin-vega EXL-1000D amp. If you're paying anywhere around $350, try Rockford/Kicker/JL/Audiobahn A4125HCT & 2300HCT, MTX, and MA Audio. |

Hey, thanks for the advice, I was thinking of running the speakers on stock HU to start with and possibly upgrade with an amp if I feel the need but I'll surely take a look at those amplifiers you suggested. |
