I have a Mcintosh MC431M which is a great amp but I am wondering if I would get more out of tube amp. There are two reasons why I am contemplating this. First the tube amp would be two channels pushing approximately 225x2 into some Morel Hybrid Ovations. Second which is purely aesthetic would be that I want all the same amps in the car. By the way the tube amp I am looking at is a US Amps TU600. I listened to one the other day and it was sweet. All opinions welcome. What would you guys do. Thanks for your help. |

with that much of a power increase, you'll hera a difference regardless of the amplifier topology. if you want matched amps, go for it. that McIntosh is a terrific amp too though.. you can give it to me if you don't want it anymore. I'll take good care of it! ^_^ hehe

The us amps are pretty good. The McIntosh amps are also good. I would probably stay with the McIntosh but thats just my oppinion. It just depends on what you like. |
