I just placed an order for the JBL bp1200.1 The site did not mention if it was a class D amp. Is it?

Hey Paul, judging by it's frequency response I'd say it's a class D amp.
I hear this amp gets hot during use.

paul,

the jbl bp1200.1 is a D-class amp. i have one.

as for it heating up, mine never heats up. even when i run it at 1ohm in the summer (in louisiana...lol)

9 times out of ten, the dash of my truck is hotter than the bp1200.1.

i can't figure out why alot of people say they heat up...i hear that about the amp quite a bit.
all i can figure is that the people that claim their bp1200.1's heat up are clipping their amps.

that amp is a solid amp. mine hammers on my brahma 10.
