If I have a subwoofer (alpine 1221d) that is a dual voice coil (2ohm + 2ohm) and my amplifiers rms rating is 230 watts x 2 @ 2ohm's, will this sub actually put out like its gettting the 230 watts from the amp or will the sub only be puting out half of the 230 watts that its receiving because its a dual voice coil?? I hope that made sence.

if you hook up each channel to each coil your amp will send 230w to each coil for a total of 460w. Nominal power handling for that sub is 300w, I have no clue if that's total watts (150w per coil) or 300w per coil.
