your model of jeep. it's a "WJ" body
prior to 99, they were the "ZJ" body

you have 6x9" factory speakers front and rear.
with an adapter or a plate, you can stick 6.5" separates in there just as easily.

How do you like that 99?
I have a '94 Laredo 5 speed, and I'm going this week to look at a fully loaded '01 JGC Ltd.

front doors are 6x9.
tweeters you could cram up to a 3" in there, but tweeters from separates fit well.

I also have a 99 GC WJ body. How do I pick and choose between all the brands for tweeters? Should I stay away from one or the other? I'd like something decent but I don't need top of the line.

From what I've read online, those stock infinity tweeters Jeep put in have blown for alot of folks including me.

Infinity Kappa Perfect 6.1
it's a 6.5" separate system with mids, tweeters, and crossovers.
fits in the factory locations easily, and runs $200 new on ebay for the set.

A guy at my local audio place gave me a few options. For tweeters he said a good base set are the Memphis PR at 59.00 a pair or if my front door speakers are bad the the Alpine 6 and 1/2 type s component system. Thats two tweeters, two door speakers and a crossover for the wires all for 179.00 plus another 40.00 to install.
