Alright I have an amp problem,my amp keeps going into protection mode when I turn the vol. up. I know what yall are going to say, yes it is sony and it is prolly crap, but until my RF amp comes in I have to use it. I think maybe it does this now because I found that my power and ground wires are exsposed a little and maybe they touched when I hit a bump in a turn. When I hit the bump the amp cut off and only my sub was playing. The highs are on a Sony xplode 222. COuld that, by my wires touching, be the problem, is the amp bad now? I can put the vol on like 15 but when I turn it past 16 the amp cuts off, also I had it on like 14 for a good while and it cut off. Whats the deal? New amp should be in soon, I think I can wait it out if I cant fix this amp.

if the amp is damaged you could try returning it for RMA repair
hard to say if it is damaged without sticking it on the bench with a scope and a dummy load

thanks man, i was just wanted to see if I could fix it, but my new amp is coming in soon so I can handle just playing at low vol. |
