I have two single coil 4 ohm subs. I need them to work with an amp with these specs. 110 watts x 2 ch rms output power (2 ohms) 220 watts bridged rms output power (4 ohms) This is for a friend please help. How do I have to wire them to work? |

It wont work man. You could either wire them at 8 ohms bridged(parallel) or 2 ohms bridged(series) neither of which is good. It will sound better to hook just one sub up. Or to get an amp thats 2 ohm stable (mono)

Hey Jonez, you should be able to find a used amp on eBay that'll more than drive those speakers at a low price. If your on a tight budget, you could try and run the bridged amp in 2 ohms mode. Just don't crank it up to the max. I do that with my current sub amp. Works just fine. Better choice would be to have an amp that supports 2 ohms bridged. |

Running a 4 ohm stable amp at 2 ohms will substantially shorten its life. It may work fine for a while. until you let the smoke out of it of course. |

Hey my amp runs warm cause I installed my own custom made fan. It used to shut down at 2ohms, now it just pumps bass. I'll give you a clue, buy a quiet computer cpu fan and install it on the amp. Does wonders. |

if the amp is designed for a certain load dont go under itevene at high or low volume you might get to a bass drop and there goes your amp. Just get an amp that can handke the load that you want. |
