Hi, I have a four channel amp that feeds front and rear speakers. What is the best way to reduce the output to the rear speakers. I have read that I could use an L-pad to passively reduce the output and have some control. Are there any other methods that I am not aware of?

Thanks,
jon

yes.
it's called the "fader" on your head unit.

The fader will not work since I have the four speakers connected to the single amp. I used the other low level output to another amp which drives the subwoofer. Therefore, the fader will only switch between the four speakers and the sub. I need a way to reduce the output on the rear deck speakers to balance the staging.

so you should have two sets of gains, one set for front and one for rear. turn the rear ones down.

use an external electronic crossover with level control, like audiocontrol's 6XS, or the Coustic XM3, or get a head unit with 3 sets of pre-outs
