I dont completly understand amps and how much power to feed a sub. I just bought an Infinity 12" sub (1230W). Its RMS is 300 watts and its peak performance is 1200 watts. Its frequency response is 20Hz-250Hz. I want to get an amp that will just feed this sub. Does that mean I want a 1 channel amp? How powerful of an amp should i get to feed this sub?

You want an amp that puts out 300 Watts RMS respectively and according to the impedance of your sub; a mono amp (1 channel) while not a must is the best way to go about it.
