my question is, if I use the mx feature am i more prone to introduce distortion to the subs, im running 3 shivas off a JBL1200.1 amp, i have the gain set to just under 4v and frequency at 80hz on the amp and deck, the subs sound good, but the mids and highs are lacking without the mx being on.. just want to be sure i dont fry my subs if i turn the gain down and use the mx feature(runnin infinity kappa component 6's powered by a kenwood 200watt amp)

you'll be fine.
just listen to the subs carefully and use common sense.
if ya hear distortion, reset the gain, turn off MX, etc to find the cause.. otherwise you should be fine using it.
