8 ohm is OEM for a piece of equipment of mine. Are they available anywhere? All I can find is 4 ohm. I'd like to keep it original without going the autoformer route. Thanks. |

won't have much luck there. unless you go with a factory replacement speaker from a dealer.

This was the premium sound system in Allis Chalmers combines in the early '70s'. OEM hasn't been available for a LONG time (I can see why). Thanks for the reply. |

some GM factory speakers are 10 ohms. That'll be a fairly close match. You could probably try using LPads to attenuate the signal to a set of 4 ohm 4x6 plates as well, which may work out for you since an Lpad circuit adds impedance to the circuit path. http://www.bcae1.com/lpad.htm
