Thread: Dual 2 ohm Inifinity run one ohm on jbl 600, please simplify  |

I have request if someone can help, I have two dual coil inifinity kappas, but I need to know how to wire them to a 600 jbl bp600.1 amp in one ohm, I really don't know how to do that as simple as it maybe? so can anyone please simplify it for me an connect the dots on how to set it up, the guy who hooked up my system said it couldn't be done! I don't know why? |

You can't hook two dual 2 ohm subs up for a 1 ohm load, your only options are either a .5 ohm, 2 ohm, or 8 ohm load with two of those subwoofers. That JBL 600.1 amp puts out 600W RMS at both 1 or 2 ohms, so wire for a 2 ohm load.

Yes, with dual 4 ohm subs you can wire for a 1 ohm load. Do this:

And do the 1 ohm load option. You can wire one sub to each terminal of your amp saying your amp has two terminals (for convenience purposes, it's still mono and presents a 1 ohm load). |

ok im thinking of doing something similar, so let me get this straight.. if i have 2 4ohm dvc subs, with a 800rms amp @ 1ohm, wiring the subs as shown there would yeild.. 800 watts to both subs? or what.. im confused sorry |

800 watts total, 400 to each sub, the power divides between the two. You wire the same way as drawn above, only difference is your amp likely has one terminal instead of two (there's no difference, the 2nd terminal is just for convenience). |

Jonathan i got a similar problem see if you can help me i have a jbl1200.1 and two rockford fosgate12" 500 rms dvc 4ohm subs right know i have them wired like this, I have 1 speaker wired in parallel for 2ohm and the other one wired in parallel also. since the jbl has 2 channels or inputs + - + - i put both of them in their separate inputs. Did I wire them right? Thanks for your help. |

Yep. Those two inputs are solely there for wiring convenience, it's the same as putting both subs on one terminal. |
