I have 2 kicker CVR12s DVC 4 ohms. I currently have a 1000w pyramid amp. I can get a Sony Mono 1600w mono amp for really really cheap. Is the sony amp better than the pyramid. The sony amp is rated at Maximum outputs: 600 W (at 4 ohms)
Maximum outputs: 1100 W (at 2 ohms). I have the subs wired in parallel right now. how many ohms are running to the amp. I think it is one??? I read that 4 ohms would be better for the subs and that they would run cooler and have less distortion. Please help. By the way i know that sony supposedly doesnt make a great amp but i just need to know if that amp would work better than the pyramid amp i have now??

yes you are running at 1 ohm now, and running at higher ohms does reduce distortion and heat amp wise. as for pyramid vs sony, not sure, but I'd guess maybe sony would be a bit better.
