If the amp is 4ohms a channel then if you bridge them togther does it have 8 ohms now?

If so that makes since why the facotry guys told my friend to series connect his dual 4ohms subs,

Because i have 1 dual 8 ohms voice coil sub and im going to connect in friends amp which supports 4 ohms stable.

I was going to connect the dual in parrallel to 1 channel but he has 2 channels bridged toghther does that change anything?
