I have an alpine cda 7995 head unit
JBL BPx2200.1
2 IDMAX 12 (4 ohm)
jl 300/4
currently have 4 (5 1/4) infinity kappa components
I am planning getting either infinity perfect 6.5 components or dynaudio's in the front.

I know that the amps have x-overs and the components do as well. So I guess my question is what would I gain from adding a crossover or eq to my system?
I am looking at audiocontrol eqx and 6xs.
Thanks for the help.

if you plan to use the XO built into the amps, you should be fine.
the XO included with the components splits freqs between tweeter and mid.
an EQ, such as the EQT or EQL would allow you to fine tune your system for the environment, but really only needed if you have major need to clean up the sound, or you plan to compete in events for SQ.
