Washed out blacks/ faded whites on 2005 mitsubishi dlp
i have a mitsu wd-62327 rear proj. dlp tv that i bought on ebay. tv worked fine, but the blacks and whites both looked kind of grey, and the contrast just didn't do enough. after reading a few posts on the net, i decided to remove the screen and take a look inside. the entire inside was full of dust and the mirror down at the bulb looked like a white screen. a can of air couldn't remove all of the dust from the lower mirror, so i vaccumed the mirror with a soft brush attachment, after sucking out the dust from the inside of the chassis). after the vacuum, i used a can of glass cleaner to dampen a soft cloth and carefully wipe the mirror. dusted the big mirror at the back with can of air, sucked out all the spider webs, and put it back together. freeeeaakin aaaawwweesommmmeee!!! like a completely different tv. BIG TIME!!! i suggest that there may be others out there who think their dlp tv pictures suck, and it may be just a matter of cleaning the inside. if you need to do this, and haven't found any other posts that explain the procedure, feel free to ask. just a suggestion: if you're not a big person, you'll need two people to remove the screen due to width. |
