Hi, I just upgraded to a new Yamaha HTR-5640 receiver, prog scan DVD and new 5.1 speaker system. I am running a optical cable for audio from the DVD to the receiver. My question is about video. My TV doesn't have component video. I was going to run S-Video from the DVD stratight to the TV, rather than going through the receiver. Is this the optimal setup for quailty? It seems that going direct to the TV would save one more conversion of the signal and save bandwidth on the receiver. I know it is more convenient to run everything through the receiver, but this is really not a problem for me. I just want maximum audio and video quality.

Probably best running it direct from DVD to TV in that case.
