I am re-finishing my 25' x 15' Family Room and putting in a Home Theater system. Floors are Hardwood. I don't know what material to put on the celing, currently I am staring at the celing joists. I want to minimize the reflective sound. But, my wife wants it to look like sheetrock. I was thinking of using thin sheetrock to let more of the sound go through, with fiberglass insulation in the celing joists to absorb it? Would thinner sheetrock reflect less sound?

These products might help, QuietRock at www.quietsolutions.com, or http://www.rpginc.com/products/baswaphon/
But I've never worked with them before, does anyone have any experience with either of these?
