I am re-finishing my 25' x 15' Family Room and putting in a Home Theater system. Floors are Hardwood. I don't know what material to put on the celing, currently I am staring at the celing joists. I want to minimize the reflective sound. But, my wife wants it to look like sheetrock. I was thinking of using thin sheetrock to let more of the sound go through, with fiberglass insulation in the celing joists to absorb it? Would thinner sheetrock reflect less sound? |

But I've never worked with them before, does anyone have any experience with either of these?
