My room is 17' x 24' x 8' - usage will be 75% movies, 25% music. I've purchased an Onkyo tx-sr601(85w/ch) receiver and wish to put together a 6.1 speaker system for $7-800.

The floors and center will likely be Fluance SM-938 and Fluance AV-SC. These SM-938 floor speakers are rated 20-200w, so this receiver should drive it without problems, right?

For surrounds, I like the Athena AS-B1s, should I get the Fluance bipolars AV-BP2 to match the fronts and center? Has anyone here heard both models to give a recommendation?

I'll likely buy a Velodyne CHT-12 sub for $250 or so...

Suggestions, recommendations, comments? Thanks ppl:-)

Seems like you have this one figured out. Stick with the Fluance at the rears, you should be fine. The Velodyne is an excellent sub. Do a mini review when you have everything put together:-)
cheers
