If I use an RF modulator to hook up my audio/video components through my receiver to my TV with only a coax F input, will I still be able to wire the sound through the surround sound speakers???

I just bought a Pioneer home theater system and stumbled across some problems. First I couldn't get sound from all speakers. I think I fixed that. Now, I cant seem to get the full power from the reciever. Is there a prefered setting it should be at? I have the volume all maxed out and I barely get a decent sound.
Also, what is the very best way to install all this stuff(DVD,VCR and cable) to the reciever? I would like to use it for all my TV viewing but on the installation manual it shows only for DVD.
