Hi, I've been looking online for a good system for a good price range but have come up with nothing yet. Can anyone please suggest a good system to get for UNDER $400. I realize because of the price it won't be equal to a $3,000 system, but please suggest the best system for my price range. Thanks. |

Go to www.circuitcity.com and check out the Kenwood HTB205 for $299. You'll get DTS, DD, DPLII and its a good size for a dorm room. Not too big. po |

cnet.com has a review for the Philips mx966. It has gotten a lot of good reviews. I just got the philips mx999 from finiter.net for $307. It is the 2002 replacement for the mx966 and it has dts. I sounds great and the sound is more that adequate for a dorm room. We set this up in our extra bedroom. In our family room we have a yamaha dts receiver with paradigm monitor 5 front, center, and polk surround sound with sub. The MX999 sound is as well defined, but for $307, it is proportionally better than the $1000 we have in our family room. Go bet the MX977 and you will not be disappointed. |
