I'm a bit of an audio neophyte but need to setup a theatre system for group screenings (no more than 24 people) in a room that is about 680 sq.ft.

I need 6 speakers and a receiver and my buget is $1200.

I've been considering the Denon 6.1 system - but read a review that it's not enough for a bigger room.

Dealers aren't willing to loan my a system for testing. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

The room is long and narrow - 18x37.

It's for a community centre - and screening cinema will be a big part of activities. I want the sound to be clean but the #1 priority is be certain that no one in a room of 24 will have to strain to hear dialogue.

I've had one expert say home theatre speaker kits and receivers are "no good" BUT another that said "no problem". Just looking for a wider range of opinions. Please help.
