Edit Post

I am adding an exercise room which sits on the same floor as my home theater room with the AV closet between. I have thought of using the zone 2 off my receiver in that closet, an Onkyo 989, to send the signal from my various sources such as satellite, VCR, DVD etc.. to the exercise room. The zone two has composite video and s-video which I planned to send directly to the TV and L/R audio outs. If I want to send the audio to just one pair of in ceiling speakers in the exercise room via a wall mounted volume control do I need to pass the signal thru a power amp and then to the speakers?? If so, any recommendations for an appropriate amp for that use??
