I am interested to know whether Home cinema recievers will handle speakers of varied impedance.

I currently have a sad midi system and would want to initially use the same speakers with a new receiver until I can upgrade my speakers. The main speakers are 6ohms, the centre is 8ohms and the rears 16ohms.

Is this possible or will it damage the amp if I were to do this. Thanks

The owner's manual of the amplifier should be your guide as to what each maufacturer's products are capable of driving in terms of speaker impedance.
