If my television offers 540 P but my dvd player is not progressive, will the image still look as good as it possibly can? Would it look any better is the dvd player was progressive?

hi Jeff Edrich

no, the video signal coming from the dvd player is an interlace/normal signal. to improve the image when watching dvd's, you will need a progressive dvd player and monster cables connected to your high-def tv. i love watching movies and i am also aware of small details. and when i switched to a progressive dvd player, i noticed a more sharper, crisper and cleaner image. let me know if you have any other questions. thanks.
